Fashion shows

Fashion shows are a means where fashion designers get to show off his or her latest designs to the world. The pioneer American fashion show took place in 1903 in the Ehrlich Brothers store located in New York City.

Fashion : runway garments from the fall/winter and spring collections of the top ten powerful and influential couturiers, are being explored and encouraging the fashion of Paris today. It has been acknowledged that there really is a dilemma with eating disorders among the fashion models so they recommend a health awareness and health education programs for them. Denise Kingsmill, chair of such inquiry stated that “During the investigation, evidence of the vulnerability of women in the modeling progression was startling and models are at high risk of eating disorders”.

During a typical fashion event, these models work the runway wearing the clothes created by famous designers. World War II closed many fashion houses in Paris. German invaders took possession of French high fashion, and even considered the relocation of the haute couture to German cities Berlin and Vienna, both of which had little tradition of fashion. These were some of the more significant changes in the French fashion landscape.

During those times, models in fashion shows were limited to a maximum of 75, while the time for evening wear was significantly lessened. Blouses were limited to at least 1 meter. During the World War, women flaunted extravagance by wearing a hat.

Americans took advantage of Paris’ isolation to show off their creativity. American designers introduced innovations in the way men wore work clothes.
